DD 21/2 and missing half the teeth

Hello everyone.
I have DD1 age 6 and DD2 age 2 both january babies.
DD1 didn't have her first tooth until she was 1 year old, but once she had the first, she had all the rest by the time she was 21/2.
DD2 is another matter. She didn't cut her first tooth until she was 18 months old. Then she cut 8 more or less at the same time, and it stopped. Now she 29 months and she still has just the same teeth that a year ago. Has some knows of other cases like this? I don't know if could be a diet thing. DD2 doesn't like milk. She stop drinking milk when I stop breastfeeding at 10 months old. She does like cheese and yougurts. The lack of teeth doesn't stop her eating everything.
Does anyone give me any advice
Thanks

Have you spoken to your dentist about this? I would think he / she could put your mind at rest, or tell you if there is a problem. I did a quick google, but could not find much. One page did say "MOST children have all their teeth by age 3" which implies that although not usual, it is not unheard of to still have some teeth missing age 3 years. Hope someone else may know more - is ComeOVeneer around?

Thanks FrannyandZooey for your reply. I had asked the dentist around three months ago. Then is when I could see she had another tooth being cut, but since then nothing else, and even that tooth looks like it had stop coming out. The dentist didn't look very worried about it. He said to keep an eye on it. He didn't think there was any problem at all.
What is ComeOVeneer?

Oh sorry, ComeOVeneer is a Mumsnetter who is a dentist so I thought she could help if she saw this thread. I haven't seen her posting lately though.

I would make sure you see the dentist again for your 6 months check and ask about it then.

my 2.5m daughter has about 6 teeth coming through at the moment and I remeber myt 5 year old being late to get all her baby teeth too
I don't think I'd be worried about it!

Thank you for all your replies.
I can see I'm not the only one with this "problem". Hopefully the rest of the teeth will come soon. A lot of people think she is younger than she is because of that.
