Have you ever let your baby sleep on her front?

yes - though was on advice of paed (dd has issues with her airway / windpipe - her breathing and sats are much better in this position)

I would only do it again with another child who didn't have those issues if I was in the room and awake - ie probably would for daytime naps but I wouldn't put them to sleep like it

it's fine for daytime naps, no drama

Dd slept on her front quite often when she was tiny as it was the way she preferred.

yes I have - after torturing myself with the decision and using one of those baby moniters which responds to movement.
DS1 was pre-term and would only settle on his front when he was in the SCBU, so he couldn't change when we brought him home.

DD slept on her front from a very early age - took me ages to get my head round it but it was the only way she would sleep. I figured I followed every single other piece of advice relating to sleeping so the likelihood of anything happening was still relatively small.

Interestingly at the time DD was bornt there had never been a study looking at cot death statistics based on sleeping position alone, it was always in association with another factor. I know it doesn't make it right but it strangley reassured me at the time.

I was hideously embarrassed about it and it took me ages to admit it a friend that DD slept on her front. When I starting revealing my secret I was amazed how many other friends came out with similar stories!

Hope this helps

Thanks girls. I admit now i have rolled her over onto her back. She was so much more comfortable on her front though. SIDS advise makes me terrified. 20yrs ago most babies were put down that way & 99% were ok.
