Hello. I am new to this so hope I am posting in the right place and that someone can shed some light for me! My 24mth DS has always been a great sleeper and until a month ago was doing 7.15pm - 6.45am every night without a peep (illnesses aside) Then all of a sudden he started waking up to 4 times a night, sometimes extremely distressed but most of the time he calls out a few times and then gets himself back to sleep. He's also started waking earlier despite the black outs. First I thought it may be the clocks changing, then that given that he's really starting to talk a lot now it may be his little brain being active at night with no control to stop it, then I thought maybe active imagination/bad dreams. Thought it was teething but he has all but 2 last molars and they don't look like they're erupting. I've tried a night light in case it was a sudden dislike of the dark....but nothing seems to break this new cycle. Ordinarily i'd just go with it and think it's a phase he'll come out of (they always do don't they?) but I'm 13 weeks pregnant, husband's workign away form home and I feel like I am being tortured with sleep deprivation!!!! Can anyone help or been through something similar? Thanks for listening to the epic!

Thanks Jura - I think you're right - just hoping he gets used to it soon!

has he had any changes recently that might be troubling him?

not really, we've stuck rigidly to his routine and he is still napping ok during the day. Maybe it is just an age thing and he'll come out of it soon........!
