I went to help out at the dd's youth club this evening, which involved getting the club bus there with the kids. Behind me sat dd and a friend from school. Their conversation included:

Deer culling and its positive effect on the local environment
The amount of litter left by tourists in the summer and the best way to tackle it
How recycling can help the environment
The 14 stone boy - how he had put on so much weight, his diet and exercise, what he should do to improve his situation
How much fish they had caught recently
How to tell the difference between a cloud containing rain and one containing snow


They are 8! Was most impressed

Wow - youth club has changed since I was at school - it was all about going behind the bushes and snogging the boys!!! Actually - that wasn't at age 8 though!
