Baby Eyelashes

This is not a particularly significant subject BUT... why do babies come with everything tiny-sized apart from their eyelashes? Everyone keeps commnenting on DS's lovely long lashes and when one came out I compared it to one of mine - and they were the same size. Checked with other babies and it's generally the same. Why is this - that "babies are cute so you'll love and look after them" thing or does an eyelash only work when its a certain size? Anyone know?

Also boys tend to have longer and curlier lashes than girls. I have two boys, and I would kill for ds2 lashes.

I think I read somewhere as well that hormonally you don't find other babies attractive, when you first have them that is. Or did I just dream that

Don't know about eyelashes, but eyes are the saem size when you are born until you die, so maybe that's a part of it?

Are eyes really the same size all your life, Lou33? 17yo dd1 has huge eyes, they'd have taken up half her face when she was born, I'm sure, if they'd been that size at birth. She and dd2 have very long eyelashes, their lashes have definitely grown longer as the girls get older. I don't recall dd1 have remarkable lashes when small - now they're like spiders legs, as she bats them at the boys!

i was told it was reseached and found that the eyelashes are the only things that dont grow as a baby grows thats why there so long in the first place

Baby dd's EARS are as big as her 4 year old brother's, but then maybe she is a freak...I think it must be an eye-size issue. Those lashes are cute, aren't they

Someone else told me about that thing that a babies eyes not changing size from birth but I can't see it's true except that they don't change in proportion to the face. I have a friend whose child has minute eyes and you'd NEVER see an adult with eyes that small. Also dd has big eyes but nowhere near as big as mine which aren't actually big in relation to the rest of my face.

As for eyelashes dd has lovely long dark ones which are already the same length as mine. I keep hoping she won't lose them!
