Throwing - how best to handle?

My DS is 2.5 and in most respects an absolute angel but just recently he has started throwing things - small toys, his food etc. I am pretty certain its an attention seeking thing (although he is not exactly lacking in that area)but i'm not quite sure how to handle it as thowing isn't something that i find acceptable.

Should i ignore it and give huge amounts of praise for the good behaviour? I have tried the naughty step a few times but he seems to quite like that!

Ay advice

HI Abwab,

I have been having similar struggles with my 3yr old. I got lots of good advice from here. I just pick whatever it is up, and make a comment like ' lets pik this up before we trip, now lets go and....' Distraction every time.
