My 2yo behaviour is driving me up the wall!

My 2 and a half yo D has terrible mood swings and tantrums. She is nice a quiet one minute then if someone dissagrees with her or moves something in the room she'll start screaming and shouting. Yesterday for example, my 5yo D was playing with her fuzzy felts and my youngest went over and said "I don't like that" and moved part of the picture. My 5yo then put it back and quietly said she wanted it there and my 2yo started screaming and banging her head against the floor. I really don't know what to do with her. She started headbanging when she was about 18m but she stopped doing it about 4 months later. She has now got a huge bruze on her forhead. I just don't know what to do, I've tried listing foods she eaten and I've tried to distract her but she is so strong minded. I've even started giving her Omega 3 syrup every day but nothing is working. I feel so sorry for my 5yo the only time she gets to play with what she likes (uninterupted) is when my youngest is having a nap (which isn't very often). I just don't know what to do. Preschools are very expensive in my area or I would quite happily send her a couple of days a week. Anyone got any advice? Anything at all?

Sounds just like my 3yo They don't call it the terrible twos for nothing. It just came a bit later for my dd. Ime there isn't much you can do apart from sit it out and make sure they don't hurt themselves too much. It's a phase and it will pass.

Glad i'm not alone. Its so embarrassing when we're shopping though. Its just been a bit of a shock as my first was so easy. My fault for thinking I'd have 2 the same

Same here at the moment. Started about a 3 weeks ago and is doing my head in. Ds is 2.10, so wonder if this is the "threenager" stage. He is particularly like a teenager, except he still wears nappies - wanted to try the toilet on Monday, has now regressed and his moods got worse so back in nappies this arvo. Okay, I'm a coward

They are like teenagers! even down to the shrugging shoulders and saying "its not fare". I get that alot from my 5yo so its not surprising my youngest has started saying it too.
