My five year old in Year 1, has a speech and language delay. He has been screened and isn't autistic. He does socialise and interact with others, but sometimes he doesn't want to speak or socialise with some children. This week he hurt a little boy in his class. He admitted it was him but wouldn't say why. Eventually he told me that this little boy had been mean to him. I did tell him that if anyone is mean he mustn't hurt, but must tell the teacher. Today he has had unkind hands again, not sure which child/children it was as he won't tell me at the moment. He just said they were mean to him. I guess he hurts/hits because he gets frustrated and wants the other child to go away. I know not an excuse and it's only started this week (his third year at the school) but I am mortified. As a parent you don't want your child doing this and behaving in this way. I am not sure what to do about it. He is a lovely little boy but this behaviour needs to stop. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thank you
