What age do you think it's acceptable for your teenager to be allowed to have a drink, I don't allow mine but when she goes out with her friends she comes in drunk and I now don't know what to do anymore ??

I let mine take her own cider to parties when she was nearly 16 (about 2-3 months before her 16th). I could then search for the lowest alcohol content (as some go really high). It's a tough one, I wouldn't be happy with being drunk much before that so she would have missed the next party if she had!

16 seems to be the age round here. There'll be booze aplenty at the prom after party, so best get used to it by then!

Op I would also post this on the teenagers thread rather than child development etc as more people will reply under that heading.
Meant to say as well, dd was only allowed to take 2 bottles, the small size and she never came home drunk.

She is 14 and she thinks because her friends do it it's acceptable I've had her grounded for a month before but as soon as she is allowed back out she wastes it again I've took her dancing off her too but nothing seems to be working. It's not just at parties it's just when she goes out with her friends and I can't keep her in forever there's not much I can do
