Hi ladies I have a question about baby's hair. Baby was born with quite dark brown hair and it's now getting lighter. She looks blonde, but it certain lights looks ginger. I have brown hair so does her dad, but he was white blonde as a child. There are no ginger people in our family at all. I was just wondering if she's in the middle of brown and blonde and it will carry on getting lighter. Would love to hear some baby hair colour story's Smile

Dc1 born with brown hair, it turned dark blonde.
Dc2 born with brown hair, it turned light blonde.
Dc3 born with strawberry blonde hair, it's stayed the same.
Dc4 born with dark brown hair, it's turned to white blonde.
They are now 7/5/2/10 months, you have to have ginger in both sides of the family, even if it's further back than grandparents.

Both dd's were born with dark hair that then went through a gingery phase then went white blonde until they were about 3 where it started getting slowly darker

Dd1 (14) is now dark blonde
Dd2 (12) is chocolate brown

We both have dark hair and blue eyes but there are a few natural blondes on both sides of the family

DC1 Born bald then went through a gingery phase and is now blonde but I'm convinced it will darken to dark fair like my own over time. DC2 born bald and is now blonde, but I think hers might also darken.

Op does your baby have cradle cap? Sometimes it can make a baby look gingery.

Dd1 was born ginger. She is still ginger.

Dd2 was born ginger. She's only 9 weeks but on past performance we're assuming she's going to be red too.

DH and I have dark brown hair.

You don't get 'ginger people'. Ginger is not even reddish.

All the kids in our family have red hair. Mum was natural blonde and dad had black hair.

There are red heads on both sides of our family. I was hoping at least one of ours would inherit it. DD1, born with almost black hair, that all fell out and it grew back blonde and curly, then turned wavy and light brown.

DD2 born with fiery red hair, has mellowed to a lovely light coppery ginger. I'm hoping it stays that way, she's nearly 3. I will happily dye my coppery brown hair to match!

Ds was born with very dark hair and was really blonde at 18 months, gradually darkened and is now very dark again at 13.
Dd was born with brown hair, got to one and she woke up with one curl and then they exploded!! And got lighter. My hair is very dark and dp hasn't got much left ha but was white blonde as a baby/toddler.

Ds once looked at a toddler pic and said " who's he?!"

DSs were born with dark hair, went white blond until they were 4 or so and then gradually darkened to mouse brown. DS1 is 17 and parts of his hair still bleach in the sun.
