hi, my DD1 16 weeks is a really good sleeper, but is a real wriggler and ends up in really weird positions in her cot.

sometimes she wakes herself up banging her head on the bars of the cot, other times we find her turned around and snuggled into the corner of the cot lying horizontally. is this normal? she would be a perfect sleeper if she didn't move so much!

told the hv but they said there's nothing i can do as bumpers aren't safe for under 1's....

hi, J went thru a phase similar to this around 6 months ish I think it was. anyhow do you use a sleeping bag? if so try tucking that into the end of the cot.

as for the moving thing - yep we have a real wriggler as well! lol there's nothin in his cot by night other than him and a blanket! lol. we use a bumper ( I thought it was OK till 1) anyhow it was tucked into the bottom of his matress and tightly tied around the bars to make sure it didn't come down, also we lay him in the middle of the cot (blanket normally goes over once we go up to bed just to his armpits.)

thanks, thats a good idea. we are using a sleeping bag so will try that....hopefully she'll settle down and grow out of it soon! but she's the same on her playmat, find her in the middle of the room if i go away for longer than 5 minutes!

lol.i'm afraid that part it part and parcel of her exploring her world! lol - just wait till she's crawling! lol.

as I say J has really settled back down in his cot now thou, and no longer sleeps over on the sides!

hopefully some other suggestions will come along.
