screaming baby refusing to sleep

Hi,
My little boy is almost 6 months old and has pretty much always slept well in his Moses basket and in his cot. We've never really had major issues with going to sleep, the odd cry but normally after 5 mins he's asleep. Suddenly out of the blue last night he cried and screamed when I put him to bed normal time. We kept trying to put him to bed but he cried and screamed every time? 10 pm he went to sleep in the end, 4 hours later than normal.
Now today for naps he's doing the same thing!
He is teething a little and I've got all the gels/powders etc but he's been teething for a few weeks now and been fine going off to sleep.

He's also become really clingy to me in the last 24 hours.
Does anyone know what might be going on?

Thanks
Alfie's mum

Have you started weaning?

My son never slept from day 1, got worse over time, finally at 13 months diagnosed with food allergies among other things.

Has ANYTHING changed? Food? Detergent? New pet? New furnishings where he sleeps?

Might not be of any help, but might be worth thinking about Smile.
