1 year old hates car seat - any ideas for long journey

she never did like it very much but now just gets so bored very quickly. she dislikes buggy mostly too. any tips??

Do it at night.

I would second travelling at night, easier on all of you. You can get cds or digital downloads of stories and songs for shorter journeys or having a dolly that has to be strapped in a car seat too can make it feel a little fairer on a protesting one year old. Empathising with how they feel also doesn't do any harm, 'it's really boring for you being in the car, I wish we could get out but we have a way to.go, shall we listen to some songs?'

One of those car seats like Mission Control with cup holders, attachable toys and so on. Special toys only for in the car stuck all over the place. Good temperature control and a special Blankie with a cartoon character of choice on it
