Was this a night terror

Last night about 30 mins after going to sleep ds 2.11 starting calling for me from bed 'mummy mummy mummy' continuously like he does if he wakes at night sometimes but he just wouldn't calm down when I cuddled him at all - dp came in as I found it frightening. It then happened again same thing in the end I just got into ds bed and tried to cuddle him but that didn't work but he did eventually go back to sleep! It happened once more in the night dp that's 3 times in total. Dp speculated upset tummy but we were asking ds if he needed water etc and he just kept crying for me!
It's only this morning I remembered the phrase night terror but descriptions I find online don't seem to match.
Dp and ds are both still asleep I woke scrunched in toddlers bed and now have been googling frantically whilst stretching my legs out in my bed

Sounds like it could be a bad dream that he hadn't woken up properly from

It was just so scary odd that I would be cuddling calming him but he didn't know I was there and was still calling for me Hmm

Yes, I think it sounds like a night terror. My DS2 used to have them at that age and it was horrible - I would try to cuddle him and it made no difference at all, as if he didn't know I was there, or sometimes he would push me away Sad The only thing you can do is sit with him and wait for it to pass.

It's horrible but not unusual.
