Teething (molars) - can teeth still hurt even after they have broken through the gum?

DD2 (2.5) definitely has all of her teeth (as verified by dentist - final molar had just appeared when we last went!). But for the past few days she has been exhibiting teething like signs. Does anyone know if teeth can continue to hurt even once they have broken through the gums? if it's not this, then I don't know what is up with her! Hands constantly in the mouth, chewing things, generally bad tempered for no other obvious reason. Any advice gratefully received!

My DCs teeth used to come through and then disappear back into the gum, and it would then start all over again.
Could be a sore throat/mouth infection?
Even earache may feel like pain in the mouth.

Good suggestion - she is not complaining of any pain in particular, but worth checking out.
