Posted on here last night following DD being sick after her bedtime bottle and wanting advice as to what to give her food-wise today.

Well a quick update: she was sick again later last night but am sure it was coz of the Calpol - I gave her some Calpol about 20 mins before she vomited the second time so think that just upset her.

Shes not had much of an appetite at all today. Had her morning bottle (bout 5oz), small amount of rice crispies, quarter of a banana, half a bit of toast and butter, some raisens, cracker and cheese (only had the cheese) and another bit of toast and butter for dinner (did make her some rice with butternut squash and a light tomato sauce but she turned her nose up).

But she had her bedtime bottle and again threw up after it! I just don't undersand????

Why both times straight after the bedtime one??? I accept an intolerance to something can just appear but if that is what it is then why was she ok after her morning bottle?

And what does that mean for tomorrow in terms of whether I offer her milk?

I keep seeing information about keeping them off dairy but I also think she NEEDS milk still so feel torn. What should I do???

Can you call your GP and speak to them? It does sound like its linked to the milk itself. Could it be quantity related? Hope you find some answers.

Honestly I would keep her off the milk and give water and maybe diluted apple juice (50/50 or less) with the same, plain food like toast etc that you did already. Hope things improve soon!

No very useful advice but wanted to mention that my DS's bout of vomiting was just the same - he seemed ok during the day and then at night he'd be sick. Lasted for three or four days and then passed. Think some bugs work that way for whatever reason. Doesn't help for when you're in it, though.

I'd be tempted to avoid the nighttime bottle if I were you to see if she might settle ok without it. Think that's what we did and we were hugely surprised when he just went to sleep.

To be clear - we reintroduced the night feed when he was well again and continued with normal food during the day guided by his appetite.
