Destructive 19 month old

Hi all,

Am wondering whether we are going wrong somewhere. Our 19 month old seems to prefer taking apart / destroying puzzles/toys. For example showed him several times how to use the building blocks, the shape sorter, piece together simple puzzles, the threading items game, the Lego etc and whatever we do he doesn't seem to want to build / create himself. He would much rather take puzzles apart / knock it down / empty the bucket onto the floor and cause mess. Which I do expect (mess!) but I thought he would learn and start creating or overcome / master the shape sorter type puzzles.

Is this normal / ok? Should we be concerned? Will he ever be creative and less destructive? Or is this a normal step in his development?

Thank you :)

This is absolutely normal behaviour. My second son took everything apart. He poked his finger down every hole that he could find. He never sat still for a minute. Didn't sleep much and his favourite word was ' why' So what happened to him? He is now a Doctor.
Be patient with him as he is exploring his world.
