Do you feed as normal after your baby has been sick?

My 11 month old DD was sick tonight half way through her evening bottle.

Myself and my DH had a sickness bug (me just diaorreeah, my DH both ends!) but we've both been fine for a good week or so now so don't believe that our DD has caught it after all that time. We both reckon she probably picked something up off the floor.

Any way, she's sleeping peacefully now and hopefully will have a good restful night. Before I settled her 4 bed I gave her water (which she had a good glug) and am thinking I'll offer her water only if she wakes during the night.

On the assumption she is ok through the night then do I feed her as normal tomorrow in terms of her milk feeds and solid feeds?

I know keeping her hydrated is the most important thing but I know if I were sick I would b careful at least the following day what I ate.

Would be grateful for your thoughts.

Yes, feed as normal. Offer food and milk as you normally would. She'll soon tell you if she doesnt want it. My DD (16 months) has had random full on chunders before, nit caused by illness (usually by overeating, constipation, coughing etc) and is absolutely fine the next day. If she's sick again/develops diarrhea she probably has a bug. If not, it will have just been a one off. Hope she's ok!

I wondered this when DS had a similar bug. Our GP said to feed him as normal if he wants it, it may make him vomit more but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

DS kept his appetite during the bug and being sick didn't seem to bother him that much. So I felt there was no point in him being miserable, hungry and poorly all at once.
