help me help me 2 year son

has anyone got any ideas on how i can help my son who is 2 but does not speak,make gestures etc
ive been to speech,health vistors etc but im starting to worry now as i want to put him in a bed and potty train him but its very differcult when he does not speak
any ideas or suggestions would be great thanks

hi, yes he is my youngest my dds are 6 and 3
not in any rush to start him on potty training etc
he has watched something special too as well as programmes with sign on but he doesnt seem intrested. people say hes just lazy but i dont think so.
also the speech therepist suggested i try forms of sign eg. drink, sleep etc and ive done that but he just looks at me. but he does love books. oops!! something special is on now to i better pop off

Makaton (or other simple sign language systems) is a good way to encourage speech or you could try using photographs. 'Something Special' is fantastic and there is a website and games linked to that on the cbeebies website. See here . I would try and get more ideas / advice / support from your Health Visitor, the Speech and Language therapist and a referral to a peadiatrician. There is info from the government about support you should be getting. See here
