Head banging in cot

Hi

My 6 month old has been crawling for a while now but has now recently started to sit up and pull up on things.

This is starting to become a bit of an issue in the night as she crawls/sits/pulls up in the cot and then just throws herself down. She is continually banging her head which often causes her a lot of pain!!

All of this is also meaning she is not sleeping very well!! She had been sleeping from 730pm-630am with a dream feed but now wakes constantly with all this moving about and head banging!!

I'd love any advice, I have some bumpers but only for one end and also know you are not recommended to use these before 12 months in case of suffocation...

I'm hoping this is just a phase?!! ....

I think it's probably just a phase. Once she's old enough to know that doing that will hurt she'll be fine. In the meantime if you don't want to bumper the whole cot which I wouldn't think would be a good idea, you could maybe pad up the bars of the cot if it is possible so it's not so hard when she does bang her head? Maybe securing some material round each one (very securely) so the air can still circulate between the bars?

We've been having this problem for nearly two months now. Hoping it's just a phase too! Have you seen bumpsters?? I think we're going to give them a go.

Those bumpsters would be perfect! They think of everything these days! There's my dragons den idea down the pan! :)

Definitely a phase that they'll grow out of. Something to do with lack of depth perception and spatial awareness at this age.

Best of luck! :)

They should make cots that come with bumpers already installed!
