My 3 and a half y-o dd has recently started screaming whenever she is remotely upset about anything. At the top of her lungs, for up to 20 minutes. Its a total nightmare if there are other people around, obviously, and is by turns distressing and incredibly irritating.
The way I deal with it is basically zero tolerance: if she is at home I will put her in her room and say if she wants to scream she must stay there until she is finished. Harder to do when out and about, I tend to put her in the buggy but that tends to lead to more dramatic tantrums.
Anyone dealt with this? I have to say it makes the so-called "terrible twos" look like a walk in the park.
