DTS are now 2.10yrs, and are still in size 12-18 month trousers and skirts, I have all these lovely new clothes for them (size 18-24 months)and I want to buy them more but refuse to buy more 12-18 months as they are slightly too short but perfect round the waist, the next size up just falls down, and thats with a nappy on. Anyone else have this problem ans how do you get around it? the clothes they have are elastricated.

DS1 is 2.5 and still largely in 12-18m trousers (he doesn't have any skirts ).

He does sometimes wear 18-24m ones, but only stuff that has very adjustable waists (got two pairs of blue cords from Mothercare and M&S for him that have the button/elastic thing like in mat clothes) and with legs rolled up a bit. I'm not buying anything else in 12-18m, although if I did, DS2 could wear it soon (different build entirely - they'll be in the same size soon, I think!).

Buy clothes with belt loops and get a fun belt? I saw a link for snake belts on eBay on another thread?

I did'nt realise you could get belts for that age, though could be tricky with potty training as I plan to do that soon.

Braces are good whilst potty training when worn over their top, they just slip their arms out.

Agree belts are a nightmare with potty training and for months afterwards....

DD 2.8 wants to go off to the toilet on her own now (which she can) but not when wearing a belt and even I faff around for ages with the snake belts...

I haven't found any buckle belts for her size...

Basically DD runs around holding onto her trousers at the moment.... and I guess she will do until she grows a bit more - like the idea re braces but not sure about a girl....
