Ok so I know a 9 month old isn't properly 'playing' me but it flipping feels like it!!!!

I know she's not a robot and that no 2 night are the same but is there EVER EVER EVER any consistency with regard to her sleeps?????

She has now taken to waking up late evening. It sounds like she is woken with a nightmare as it's that really strong cry with no build up. Very occasionally she'll do it in her sleep and therefore it won't properly wake her but other times, like tonight, she needs proper settling.

So you take her out her cot, sit with her to try and get her back to sleep, she firstly shows all signs of wanting to go to sleep with the eye rolling, nuzzling in etc. She finally gets to sleep but when you put her back in her cot it's eyes wide open the second her head hits the mattress!

So I think to myself "ok if you wanna be awake then fine, I can't MAKE you sleep, but I'm not gonna sit here an watch you cause the evening is grown up time and not for babas!".

But as soon as I go to leave the room she full on cries!!!!!

I have now managed to leave her with he mobile on. She is making a ton of noises (most of which seems to be talking to herself, some threatening to maybe cry).

What am I supposed to do???? If this were in he day I would let her cry but u don't want her waking my DH.

It's soooooooo frustrating!!! Why he hell isn't she tired??????????

Dont take her out of the cot.
Settle her while you sit outside the cot, stroke her while she is lying down, sign to her, dont turn the lights on.

Oh yeh, forgot to mention also has taken to pooing too late at night or in the middle of the night.

Weirdly we had somehow managed to get to 8 months without EVER being woken up coz she'd pooed?!?!??

Now all of a sudden she's doing it regularly.

Is it possible at this very young age she ha learned that poo = being picked up????

I think pooing tends to be regular, but changes time if you see what I mean. So at the same time of day for a while, but then it'll change to a different time of day. I doubt at 9months she has that much control over her bowels! Not what you want to hear, but my 9mo rarely goes to sleep before about 9.30pm any more.

Sounds like my daughter at 9 months, if not worse. There is allegedly a sleep regression at this time.
I have no helpful advice other than to settle her best you can.
My daughter hated pick up/put down
Gradual retreat, sitting outside of cot - all of it in fact.
I refuse to let her cry it out although I go longer between bouts of crying now as I've realised that sometimes she just needs a little shout.

I'm actually seeing a sleep consultant with regards to my daughters (lack of) sleep, it got that bad. She's just turned one, has improved slightly.

Still, no 2 nights are the same!
