She has always been a faddy eater and never had much of an appetite ( except for sweets!)
This last few days she has either been refusing to eat or will take a tiny bite, chew until food is liquified then spits it out normally into her hand or a tissue doing it so she thinks noone will notice!

Consequently shes eaten v little this week and I have stopped all treats but things don't seem to be improving, I'm concerned that this isn't just a silly phase and is something more serious although I realise this is unlikely.

When I a sk her shes says its because shes scared of choking but when I tested her with a fruit pastille ,without her knowing what I was doing, the same didn't seem to apply!

Any thought /ideas/experiences/ would be appreciated Thanks!!

I think that you should continue to serve small but good healthy meals of things she has liked in the past, put the plate in front of her without comment, then take it away without comment when everyone else has finished. No other food available except the fruit bowl. It's very hard not to worry, but she isn't going to starve herself and it won't do her any harm to eat very little for a while. I suspect that once it stops being any sort of issue, she'll start eating again. Mind you. she'll probably find something else for you to worry about. It goes with the territory!
