Strange running - at 4 years old?

DS1 is a tall lad - 115 cm (which is almost height of an average 6 yr old) and he's just 4 yrs and 3 months.
When he runs he seems all over the place really - doesn't run with legs stretched, but with sort of knees bent the whole time (difficult to describe). Also bobs his head around a lot, which looks like it uses a lot of energy. DH says it's just because he's tall and has heavy, long limbs, but he does look rather strange compared to some of his smaller friends. Should I be worrying? What's 'normal' running for a 4 year old??

Wow - twiglett - almost believed your scientific stuff there.
I suspect you're probably right - I just don't want him to grow up a 'geek'

I had a friend whose ds ran strangely. He's fine, just a gangly one (with a 6 foot mum he was always going to be), I wouldn't worry MO2. Wow Twiglett, you do bullshit well, I nearly believed that too!

yes gangly people run funny, LOL My nephew is lanky and he is a very funny runner - some people are not as athletic as others either. Some children dont have control over there bodies til later either.

My dd has mobility problems and you want to her run! She laughs at herself
