DS constantly fiddling with his willy

How do i react? He's 2 in Sept and always has his hands down his nappy fiddling, either that or he takes his nappy off and fiddles.

What do i do ignore it or tell him to leave it alone/distract him frim doing it? Im guessing not the latter as he has ever right to discover his body and he is very young, do i even mention it to him?

DS still does this all the time at 5. At only 1 I would ignore. Now I have told him that really he should only be doing it in his bedroom.

ha ha ha!!.. mine is a girl 22m and she is forever fiddling her privates too as they are just exploring. i would wait till your DS is old enough to ask you what is it?? have fun explaining!!!

mine all do thsi ( 7, 4 and 18mo) I ignore it except for ds1 and suggest that he should save it for 'private' time! he ignores ME!

Both Ds's do this. DS1 (2.9) is at it all the time! You just have to try to ignore and get used to astonished faces in the supermarket!!!!

DS nearly 7 seems to constantly have his hand on his crotch when he's walking about, altho he doesn't actually fiddle inside his clothes.

I don't think trying to stop them helps, I'm just waiting for him to grow out of it.

My ds1 is 9 and keeps fiddling through his shorts.Not so bad at home but he does it walking through town. Ive told him its something that should be done in private and not while we are out.Think its just become a habit.

ds is one and his hand is always hovering when i am undoing the nappy.
in the bath is his favourite place!

Mellowma ? can I ask how old your DS is and how old he was when he stopped ?humping??
My DS has been doing this since he was about 18months old; he?s now 4 and still does it at EVERY opportunity he gets.
Just slightly worried that he continues this when he starts school in September. He?s already shocked one of the nursery staff recently. She tried to distract him and in the process of doing so found that he had managed to ?hump? his trousers and pants down ? the full extent of his enjoyment was displayed for all to see
A few days later I was taken aside to be informed that he?s now ?getting it out? to show everyone ? ?twanging? it and saying ?look at this?!!!
So like his father ?.(that would be funny if he wasn?t such a wnkr)

my Dd is two, and wont leave her foo alone! i have just stopped her from putting a white chocolate mouse in there! when i said "no you will make it sore" she told me off!

Ds 3 has just stopped wearing great big cloth nappies and so has finally discovered the joys of a good fiddle. Well meaning adults everywhere constantly ask "Do you need a wee?" to which he answers "No, I am just playing with my willy". At this age I am mostly inclined to ignore although when it starts to bug me I remind him about the little talk we had about doing it in private. He's not really old enough to realise he's doing it, though, it's just a little comfort habit and, as he says, "It feels nice."

All my children have done this, DS did it in front of my health visitor, and she said "well why not it feels nice!!"

Ds does it, esp if tv or another distration is on (he's 2.4) and he just does it absent mindedly. I do say 'off your willy!' a lot and he stops, grins and starts again!

He does tend to try and have a fondle during a week, which is great when it gets everywhere bar in the potty!

My 22m/o has been doing this for as long as he's known that he's got a willy. The bath is his fave place for this.

He is no different to his older brothers.

DS2 age almost 6 just LOVES his bits and is always having a fiddle, i just ignore it now.
He use to run in to the room pull down his pants say look at my winky pull up pants and run off. (hopefully NOT a sign of things to come .

DS1 now 10 also went through a faze of holding on to it for dear life as if it was going to drop off at any moment.
And most of DHs football team stand around with their hands down their pants claiming cold hands warm up fst like that, so its a life long obsesion (or i know some really odd people!!!)

seems to be a boy thing.
I tell them that it will get sore if they do it and,once, DS1 managed to do himself a mischief - not exactly sure what the correct term is but it looked like he'd pulled the foreskin inside out (ouch - not sure but that's waht seemed to happen!)

He found out that Mummy was right after all and he doesn't do it quite so much anymore

My DS is 2 and loves pulling down his pull-up pants so that his willy sort of sits on the top, hanging over the edge. It's not always immediately noticeable until he does a wee...

To be honest I think most grown men would fiddle with their willy all the time if society/convention allowed it. My DH always has his hand down his trousers (not fiddling) when he's watching TV. He says it's 'comforting'.
