Not sure if this is the right place, but i'm looking for an iPad like thing for kids to support development. I've seen a few (leap pad), one by Samsung, etc, but want to know if anyone has one and would recommend it?

Relatively robust preferably!

I don't know of any for speech specifically, but I do think that a camera is very good to encourage observation and discussion. DS has a speech disorder and loves taking pictures of everything and anything, then he shows them to me and he explains what's going on.

Something to record sounds is also very good as it helps children 'tune in' to whatever sounds are around them.

We also had a voice changer microphone, it's great fun and helps children make lots of sounds.

As a childminder, I also have this toy and it's great to encourage speech: www.earlyyearsresources.co.uk/literacy-c17/speaking-and-listening-c367/talking-tubes-set-p5542

I have a few from our SALT
Try splingo. It's good for language rather than speech.
