Not a pushy mum..in fact just changed swimming instructors because was pushing my son too much..but every time we go to a playground my boy sits and watches and does nothing and is scared of even the littlest challenge...didn't use to be like this..maybe been an over cautious mum..but not THAT cautious! However today really felt bad low as even two year old toddler was braver than him! How can I help him overcome his fear without getting annoyed?

I have a DD like this. She's 9 now and I never push her anymore. She has recently asked to go to Gymnastics...so that's a big result and I think it's because I stopped trying to push her.

We also began cycling...it REALLY helped her confidence. She was able to cycle to school and back with me and others...three miles there and three back and she's grown stronger. Would your DS like that? Cycling is cheap and fun.
