Hello mumsnetters My dd is 5 (yr 1 at school). She has been going to ballet classes since January and has always loved it, but last week she was moved up a class, which meant we had to swap venues although she's still with the same school. Well, she was in bits before the lesson, really anxious and worried about what the other children would be like. I handed her over to the teacher who was really kind and hoped that she'd have a good time as she always does once she gets going. But after the lesson she was still upset and was not really able to articulate why. She has suddenly become worried about performing in front of other people, even to the extent that when she got home she couldn't bring herself to show me what she'd done. There is a ballet school performance in December which she seems to want to be in but at the same time is very worried about. I would never make her do it if she didn't want to, but I want her to give it a shot. Has anyone else had a similar experience and/or have any suggestions?
