When do you ditch the pram?

Dear All, I have Dd 3, and Ds 1, so it's not going to happen soon, it's just that I have one of those kiddie boards on the back of the stroller, and it works really well, Dd gets off and on when tired etc. I just noticed Ds is starting to get restless now if he's in for too long, which got me thinking about the next stage of things. I suppose once it's not feasible to put Ds in any more we'll just have to be sure there's not too much long distance walking required....any secret mumsnet magical hints as to when/how to do the transition?

I don't know with 2 children - but I use a hipseat for ds who is now 3 or we take his trike, I haven't used the pram for a year.
