Nose bleed during tantrum!!!

My DS 3.2 was having a trantrum tonight just before bed about not being sleepy and not wanting to go to bed (even though he must have been as we had been on a day trip today to the zoo where he was walking/ running everywhere).

He was very worked up and crying at the time and then proceeded to have a mini nose bleed Sad not gushing but trickling which seemed to stop after I wiped/ held his nostrils together twice.

I am concernrd as he has never ever even had a nose bleed before. Is this normal? Should I be worried? has anyone else experienced this with their DC?

Thanks

Nosebleeds are very common in young children. At one time ours were having nosebleeds every 1-2 weeks (at 2 years old). Hardly ever now (a year later).

It's almost never a cause for concern, although this link has some good info...

www.gosh.nhs.uk/medical-conditions/search-for-medical-conditions/nose-bleed/nose-bleed-information/

There are also some threads here on MN I remember looking at when mine had gone through a 10-minute "gusher". Pop "nosebleed" in the search box, and you'll get a good selection.

If your DS has just had one small nosebleed at 3.2years, I wouldn't worry.
