need weaning advice

ive just started weaning my little girl shes nearly six months old shes cleared a whole jar of baby food for the first time she loved it but shes not had many bottles today because of it i offer her 8oz a time and she takes between 4-7 and a half of each at 4-5 bottles a day she has only had three bottles today because she has had a jar and has not been interested in any more feed is this normal ? and can anyone give me any advice please thanks :)

Are you giving the milk before food? This is advised because they are still supposed to get most of their nutrition from milk and you don't want them filling up on food instead.

Yes, give milk when hungry, then food an hour later.

If you can avoid jars and make your own you will save a fortune very quickly! Ripe banana is a great weaning food that doesn't need a complicated blender Wink

Offer her water with her solid feeds too to keep her fluid intake up, as when she is eating larger volumes she will naturally decrease her milk and therefore fluid intake.
