Omg! Having one of those days! DD is 22 months and has been very bad at daytime naps recently. Today she slept for 10 minutes...TEN MINUTES! omg kill me now... Took her for a walk (in the rain) protested at being in buggy- wouldnt let me put rain cover on- seriously red in the face screaming flailing arms... Asking for 'nigh nigh' (dummy) but not in a normal way... In a frantic screaming demanding repetitive way...still no more sleep- then lunch time, beans and cheese pastry- she an her toys are now covered in beans an pastry... She refuses to sit in a chair let alone highchair (i mean screaming/red in the face/snot streaming/teeth clenching/back arching SCREAMING)
I can't get anything done because she's attached to me- like literally koala gripping my leg if i walk 2 feet away from her...I.NEED.A.BREAK.
I don't know what i am looking for here... Please tell me i'm not alone?! This is crazy....it's inhumane... I need to pee and i have to take her with me....ughhhhhConfused

Might be worth getting some ibuprofen in. It's so much better for dental pain than paracetamol.

Can you just sod the housework and both watch cbeebies for a bit, or even take her for a nap in your bed? She might settle down if she's snugged up with you Smile

Good to know re; ibuprofen!
You are right... Will just have a cuddle day. Been reading her the same book over and over (baboons bottom) she wants it again and again which kind of makes me go a bit cuckoo! Lol

My dd loved the book you choose at that age, it still has to go on holiday sometimes now.

Ahhh zoogeek! Thanks for the show of solidarity Wink
Sometimes i feel like i'm either a terrible mother or perhaps they forgot to include some settings when creating DD for me (rational behaviour?!) but i guess that age is all about being irrational.
Just when you think you have finally got it together though! Those 2 hours were vital for me to wash the cement like layers of wheetabix out of my hair without having to 'shaaaare' my expensive products.... Oh wait that was 3 years ago- i dont own anything nice anymore for fear of it getting snot on it... Or crayon... Or just ripped to shreds (r.i.p favourite silk blouse)

Anyhoo... If only i could reason with her... It would go like this:

'Please sit quietly for a few minutes or go to sleep an when you wake up mummy will be sane again and won't break down to the cashier at the co-op because they were out of the blue cravendale......'

DS is 14 months and exactly like that! When he naps its for 3 hours but some days he just refuses! Driving me round the bend the past. 2.5 weeks. hes been poorly so not only can I not move an inch, turn off cbeebies, bugger about on my phone but he's on and off my knee all bloody day whining to get up, getting off then back winging, not even the park makes him happy ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused
