Looking for cranial osteopath/lactation consultant in/near Ealing

We'd like to try cranial osteopathy for our 5-week old daughter. She was ventouse delivery and we've had terrible problems with breast feeding - she's almost entirely chewed off my nipples, has very little appetite and is understandably grumpy because she's never full, but she also doesn't really demand feeds! She's a lazy sucker both in the boob and the bottle but LOVES to comfort suck :-S. I've gone to every local support group going, had help from the NCT bf counsellor, rung the helpline... Figure we may as well try CO.

I had a recommendation for a lactation consultant but she says I live too far away from her. I really want to breastfeed but don't know how much longer I can put up with the pain. I've read the whole Internet and know what "should" be happening but we just can't seem to get it right in practice. CO and lactation consultant are my last ditch attempts to try and get this working.

Can anyone help? I've also posted on my local site but no replies so far.

Midwifes should be able to get you in touch with a lactation consultant or HVs, check your local sure start for bf groups too they might have one!

DS seen an osteopath in Wandsworth, a bit far maybe but it's the Putney side so you could get the district line to Putney? It's a charitable one so you pay what you can afford, they were fantastic with him (and me), its the osteopathic centre for children x

I can recommend Charles Lim at the White Hart Lane clinic in Mortlake- not ideal location wise but near Barnes Bridge Station and plenty of parking nearby

Hi Mafiti, my colleague Eva Winter works in Marlow, and i'm sure she works in West London too. She did her post grad Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy, working in hospital with sick and well babies. Look her, or any other Osteopath up on the Register of Osteopaths, at //www.osteopathy.org you can search for a Practitioner by name or by location. Good luck! Ps All registered Osteopaths have appropriate training, a degree nowadays, in clinical medicine, pathology etc to ensure that they are safe and know when to refer you elsewhere, if needed.

We used the Maris Practice in Twickenham for both dc. Joanna Knapp is a lactation consultant there and Tom, the cranial osteopath. I found both excellent and had mine sleeping longer and longer at night each time we visited. We travelled from south London to visit them as they were so good. Hope you get your issue sorted
