My DD 2.2 is a complete and utter fruit-loop, she's just bonkers!!
i have literally spent most of today playing with her and just laughing my ass off....she had her dinner and then i put Curious George on as a treat for her (and me so i could sit down with a cup of tea for 5 minutes), anyway it finished and she jumped up shouting and screaming at the tv (in a funny way) grabbed the remote, trying to do all sorts of things to get George back, then threw it down in disgust when it didn't work and started looking under furniture, under pillows, under her top saying "nope, gone, he's gone", i was literally crying laughing at her....we then we out for a long walk and she was just as bonkers jumping in puddles, talking to a gate , talking to a bus as it went past...
and THEN because she jumped in a puddle and her little wellies get dirty she went nuts and sat down in the wet to take them off to dry them....

this is on a daily basis, she's such a cool little dude and just cracks me up with her nuttiness and its a joy to watch her grow and enjoy herself...

i always thought this age would be hard (and we do have our moments) but on the whole i love it, and she makes me laugh so much with her antics.

My DS2 (2.4) is bonkers too. He's my second DS and so different from DS1!! DS1 is calm, sensible, serious, kind and empathetic. DS2 is quirky, imaginative, naughty and downright odd at times!
This morning he picked up my clock radio (switched off) and shouted 'Radioooo Twoooooo!' at the top of his voice. He regularly decides to walk backwards instead of forwards. He loves to rub yoghurt on his hair and make odd faces.
I adore them both! Lovely thread.

peachy....you just couldn't make it up could you, it constantly amazes me what an absolute joy the little ones are....
i was watching her earlier asking her goldfish "Dora, you ok??" and then looking at me with a totally bewildered look on her face coz Dora wasn't answering her! i was weak....

Ds (4yo) comes out with some classics - a few months ago he was horrified to discover that girls don't have willies ("but they need them"). Then he thought about it and told me "Maybe... if girls don't have willies, they could ask Father Christmas for one and he could bring it down the chimney?"

Ha ha love it! We regularly have a 'nudie rudie' show where he runs around bouncing his bottom off things. He loves being naked!

soooo funny, its very hard trying to explain something that is simple to us, to them....very good logic though @mummy, wonder if it'll be on my DD christmas list this year lol x

DS is also 2.2.

He's now started singing 'nappy nappy nooo- nooo' whenever i ask him if he's done a poo.

He recognises Jake Bugg's 'Lightning Bolt' within a few beats and proceeds to sing/ shout (very clearly i might add) 'Light.....Ning.....Bolt' because i've tried to help him pronounce it by breaking down the syllables.

He runs from one side of the lounge to the other, flinging himself on the sofas for no apparent reason other than sheer enjoyment. If you've ever seen a dog do something similar you'll know what i mean - like he's got the wind up his tail. He sometimes does it while chanting "Run...run...run..."

Oh and he takes great pleasure in sitting himself on the naughty step of his own volition (except we call it 'time out' in our house).

On the plus side, he's great at knowing when he's tired (after all his exertion who could blame him?) and will actually ask to go to bed because he's 'tired' and is ready for 'night nights'.

I wanted to resurrect this lovely thread! My DD has been a crotchety whingebag all weekend but today totally bonkers and I am so happy I wanted to share!

She was using my headphones as a stethoscope, then started checking for a heartbeat in her nappy! Had the full Ministry Of Silly Walks up to bath, where she proceeds to sit drinking ice cold tap water from a stacking cup with holes in so it pours all over her tummy. Then told "daddy, go down plug hole". Totally hilarious.

A couple of weeks back she took to wanting me to video her at dinner time, at which point she'd screech at the top of her voice "abia abia change your nappy avocado!!!" over and over again!

Fun times (amongst the days of near constant whingeing...)

@fifii...that is so sweet, isn't it funny how they can have you tearing your hair out with frustration one minute and then literally laughing your ass off the next....i think its safe to say our little ones can make us laugh like no one else, its your own personal comedy show sometimes lol

Whingebag and fruitloop are both things I call my DD. today she decided she was a dog! (She is 3). Funnily enough she magically morphed back into human form to ask for a digestive! Crazy cakes, bonkers child! Love her!

sometimes when i watch my dd do her thing i think i'd love to know what's going on in that little head of hers.....then i think its probably best i don't know....i love the goddam bones of her and she just kills me lol x

DD1 is 4. She went into preschool yesterday telling everyone we were making 'vitamin' buns when she got home. As in cinnamon buns :o

She also begged me to let her still live with me when shes big and has a baby. This is about 6 weeks after the initial conversation where I told her she had to have her own house to have a baby. At that point she was going to live next door to me. Now thats out the window and shes trying the puppy eyes approach!

ds2(11) has only just learnt to say toblerone. he used to say toberlone (and still does sometimes) which makes me , then he gets cross 'cos I can't stop laughing which makes me laugh more.
(then I have to apologise for laughing at him. 'it's not funny'. but it is)

when he was about 3 he went through a phase of wearing 'fancy dress' every day. he dressed as a cowboy most of the time. I had to trawl around the charity shops looking for small checked shirts. that always made me

DS (3) is also brilliantly crackers. So many examples I don't know where to start, so I'll go with music based as he currently absolutely loves singing & music but is bizarrely particular...

Rolling Stones satisfaction, Marvin Gaye's whats going on album & Reggae of all sorts his current favourites:

• When the question "who wants to sing some songs" was posed in Circle time at nursery, he promptly stood up and sang Is This Love by bob Marley, or rather his version, Missis Plum. Can just picture a bunch of 3 yr old all in a circle like this
  

• Sunday lunch in a Toby carvery, he noticed a picture of Mick Jagger on the wall and said to DH "has that man got any satisfaction yet, yes or no?"
  

• Singing Marvin Gaye's 'messy messy me' (Mercy Mercy Me) at the checkout in Morrisons, he breaks off to inform the bemused checkout operative that 'ladiesandgentlemanMrMarvinGaye' doesn't put his toys away.
  

Oh, and last night he picked a particularly large bogey at bath time, called it Lightening McQueen and insisted I make a bed out of tissue for it.

DD (3) is really into her superheroes, she spends most of the day being Wonder Woman

However she was her own superhero creation the other day with a catch phrase of ACTIVE FOAM

Definitely cannot pretend she doesn't watch tv now

My 2.8 year old niece is a mad child. Yesterday when in the car she said "Auntie, dinosaur" I played along "where?", DN "over there", me "what colour is he?" DN "green". me "does he have big teeth" DN "yes blue" and so on until I got bored. Later on when we got back to the car after being shopping (her favourite past-time) she was licking the rain off the bodywork! At home she is known to wear a blue spotty shower cap and sunglasses. I'd love to know what goes through her mind.

I remember when my Dd1 was little she named my mums partner Bob (his name is Chris) and we never knew why. She could say Chris, knew his name was Chris, but she insisted on calling him Bob. To this day the name has stuck!

i'm with you shocked, this is such a lovely age, its just the best. i dread to think what is going to happen sometimes, she just creases me.
dancing is her favourite thing at the moment, no co-oridination just little arms, legs and her butt going in all directions, hilarious but extremely cute xx
