also he has been sick too recently so perhaps not quite 100%. Maybe he's seen/heard some news story which is making him worried.

Younger kids tend to go thru bouts of separation anxiety, I think it'e pretty normal.

However you're right, Hawaii will be too much for him, so I will have his ticket instead Wink - best hol I ever had.

how old is ds3?

dd at 3.5/4yo went through a phase when dh didn't say goodbye in the morning when he left for work whilst she was still sleeping she'd be whailing for about 30mins 'I miss papa' 'where is papa'... and that is with him just gone for the day! Dread to think what she would have done if dh had gone away for longer!!!

Now (4.5y) she generally only 'i want papa' when I told her off Grin

he's obviously feeling unsettled. Maybe having daddy around for a whole 2 weeks and then nothing has worried him?

You may think he's used to it but as he gets a bit older he thinks a bit more iykwim?

Perhaps it's that he was recently ill and that daddy was recently at home for 2 weeks solid maybe ?
