Hmmmm
TERRIBLE! I'm feeling very sorry for myself right now. Did cc which worked very well until day 4 dd (8 months) got ill and now, nearly 3 weeks later we're back to cosleeping. However, the roof above my bedroom has been gradually leaking and we've just discovered the wall's gone mouldy under the wallpaper. So we're all in ds's room now (Dh on sofa). Cosleeping not really possible in ds's bed and dd's room is also half stripped. I'd do cc again but have nowhere to do it until the rooms are fixed which will be weeks
What's happening with your dc?
Feeds at 6pm and 6am nothing inbetween (but is 6 months 2)
Nearly 7 months, has one big feed in the night. Sleep still very patchy, a good night he wakes twice, a bad night can be multiple times. He's never slept through. Yawn.
Just turned 8mo ds2, sleeps c7-9, awake for 1-3hrs and feeds twice during that time, asleep again by 11pm usually, wakes 2-3 times for milk, wakes for the day between 8-9. He's teething at the moment and ebf. Had a phase of sleeping 7 hour blocks between 3-5months - seems a long time ago now.
Wakes every 1.5 to 2 hours throughout the night, will only go back to sleep if fed. Fun. And. Games.
Saturday night
7:15 fed sleep
10:00 fed sleep
12:30 fed sleep
3::15fed
Awake at 330 until 4:40
Teething symptoms. Not crying as such just tossing and turning. Full wee nappy.bunged up
This was last night and was similar to the night before...
She slept 6hours up until 8 weeks old. Always been breastfed on demand. Sleeps in cot fine, and sometimes with us depending on the night. Usually she'll do 8:00/30-1/2 feed straight to sleep then again at about 6. But sometimes (like last night) she fidgets herself awake. Talks in her half sleep mode. Half the time she doesn't want feeding just a cuddle. Definitely teething though... Dd1 didn't pop her first tooth until ten months so not sure if she'll be the same.. I think we might disturb her a bit too when we come up to bed at 10:30/11isj.. Creaky floor boards don't help!
Dd1 did this I think.. She self weaned to cows milk at 13m, also went into her own room at that point. Slept through ever since.
We now co sleep its that bad. He wakes every hour and wants a boob before je drops back off. I am knackered and need a hip replacement and a new back. It will pass (wails)
Another co-sleeper here. DD is 7 months. Sleeps in her cot from 7pm until 10.30pm and then in with me. Wakes up between 4 and 6 times a night. Snack on the boob sorts her out normally. Swivelhips - I feel your pain!
Both mine did the same as Elphbaba's.
Waking roughly every three hours. Teething like crazy (6 teeth cut so far) and full in teething rash on face + matching nappy rash. Poor baby. I'm optimistic that when teething is over she will sleep better as she was actually sleeping right through before the teeth started appearing.
Fed 745 sleep 750
11 awake fed sleep
2am awake not wanting feed just cuddles
245 sleep
3:55 feed
4:04sleep
Still asleep now.
All in her cot. Sometimes she'll come in with us but jut as happy in her cot
Noticed that she's also not been pooing everyday now. It's more like a paste the past few days... So constipation might be the thing along with teething
mine similar to yours usually - although last night was better.
last night she was awake until 11pm - cluster feeding (grrr). then sleep until 4.40am (in bed with me). fed until 5.15 (I wrenched her off) and now still asleep. this is the best she's been since about 15 weeks though when it all went wrong!
usually she's up 3-4 times and sometimes with big gaps awake where we just can't get her back to sleep.
Mine is now 8 months. But at 7 months was feeding at 6.30pm, in bed by 7pm and waking around 6am. Would sometimes wake up in the night looking for a cuddle or his dummy, but not food.
This was last night...
745 feed 8 sleep
12 feed sleep
1:30awake fidgety farting
2:45 half feed
Still half sleep fidgeting
Sleep 3am
Awake at 7am
(The 7am sounds lovely but dd1 woke me up at 5:50)
I don't think that sounds too bad tbh - maybe if you dream feed her before bed, then she'll only be up once in the night for a feed - I think that is entirely normal at 7 months. I know it is a shock though if they've previously been sleeping...
Is she in her own room? if so, you wouldn't be woken by her fidgeting then maybe
(my 7mo last night - went to sleep at 11pm again after an evening feeding, woke at around 2.30 I think and fed for over an hour - I finally got fed up with her close to 4am and put her back down, and then she slept until 8am).
Oh hello!
Same boat here....
Ds routine is:
-goes down at 8pm
- Rocked back to sleep around 11pm
- fed back to sleep at 3.30am
- wake up at 6am
Woohoo!
We co-sleep, not that he needs it... I need it!!!
Tues night
Fed and sleep at 7:30
Fed and sleep 10:40
Fed and sleep 1:30
3:40 fidgety lots stirring
5:00 strirring fidety lots and gurgling in sleep
She came in with us at thia point and is still asleep..
The second feed he was asleep and I thought trying to dream feed her
Dd is having two feeds approx each night now. I can't remember what dd1 did at his stage? One? Maybe two hmmm... I know they're different just wonder if y milk isn't fatty enough.
Doubt it though as she's a tank lol
FWIW, DS1 didn't drop night feeds till about 11 months. After that he was a pretty good sleeper. DS2 was still feeding twice a night until he was nearly 2 years old. He now goes through 12 hours at a time. (I should have weaned him earlier, as it was definitely comfort at that stage!) It nearly killed me at the time, but I just wanted to say that eventually it passes, and doesn't necessarily mean that your child will be a bad sleeper.
I've moved into the spare room for the last 2 nights - leaving dd in my room (in her cot, which has been untouched since birth) and she has slept much better (or at least she hasn't woken me!). First night she went to bed at 10, woke up at 11.30 and then after a feed slept until I had to wake her up at 8 (!). Last night not quite so good, but went to sleep around 8.30, work at 1.50 fed until 2.30 and then slept until 7. So both nights still only 1 waking up.
I'm probably speaking too soon now and tonight will be hideous!
dh had her up with him for the 2 nights before then, when she was offered expressed milk, so maybe that broke her from the habit of lying in bed next to me suckling all night.
Squirrel - if so, good news
Hope you had a good night on Saturday.
I find that she's more fidgety if not had a poo in a day or so, teething..
I know that my dd1 slept through at 13.5m when she went into her own room. We were so nervous but she loved it and has slept through ever since.. She also weaned from bf at that stage.
