When to stop swaddling?

DS2 is 11 weeks old & is swaddled at bed time. Some of the swaddles we have don't fit very well & he sometimes is wearing them as a belt in the morning Grin. We have one really effective swaddle & are debating whether to get more like this one or not to bother if he's not going to be swaddled much longer?

When have others stopped? Can't remember when we stopped with DS1 but he was a much smaller baby in any case.

i swaddled for as long as possible with my 3dc's. i never used the proper swaddling blankets you can buy but they seem quite good and im sure they go up to 6 months? as soon as they start crawling was when it seemed impossible for me to swaddle them as they move around their beds.

I stopped swaddling DD at a month on the advice of my HV. I think if I were to do it again I'd defo want to swaddle for longer.

When you do stop, the Grobags or sleeping bags are great for keeping your mind at ease in terms of blankets safety.

I think we swaddled till about 5 or 6 months when we moved onto gro bags.

I used one of those special swaddling blankets as well as normal sheets/blankets but i remember we reached a point where it was a bit of a battle to get her in it and she was getting a bit big for the swaddling blanket, so we did a gradual transition to sleeping bag.

We stopped swaddling at 13wks due to blanket never being in place in the morning, moved on to small 0-3 sleep bags which have been great, only hands very cold it not covered.

Dd was swaddled for about 10mins at a time - she wriggled.out before we had even left recovery after my c-section! We switched to a gro-bag early because she hated being swaddled.
