Concerned about my 4 month old's wandering eyes!

I have a 4 month old ds who just seems to love looking at anything and everything, he will, now and then, give somthng his full attention and maintain good eye contact but his eyes often 'wander' like he isnt really looking at anything inparticular. Im getting a bit worried that he doesnt seem to hold his attention with his eyes.....should I be concerned or is this something that he will gradually do with time?

Hi
I was also concerned that my dd who is now 4 months old wasnt fixing on anything but that was at 10 weeks - we took her to see a consultant who diagnosed delayed visual maturation but although she is a lot better and sometimes I could swear she is looking right at me she still sometimes looks to be looking right through me
I have looked it up on the internet and it seems that with DVM, sight can kick in literally overnight or gradually for up to a year!!
It does seem more common than you would imagine but I would suggest just to put your mind at rest going to the doctors and getting it checked out
