2 year check up

does (has) all of your children actually had a 2 year check by health visitor. I got a card in the post with a list of things that DD should be able to do by the age of two and just says that if I have any concerns I should get in touch.

DD didn't really have a 8 month check either come to think of it - the hv just talked to us while we were waiting for dd to be weighed etc.

Haven't seen hv since DD was about 9 mths old.

Not sure if i should push for a meeting or not. She can do all of the things on the list - so not actual worries - but seems a bit hit and miss if it is up to me to decide if I need to see HV or not.

any views please

IME trust your own judgement. Unless you have any major concerns don't bother with your HV (unless you have a really good one that can tell you more than what you can read in any book).

Its the same where I live. My DD has not had a formal check up since she was 6 weeks. Where I am the 6 month check up was replaced by a casual drop in session, and the two year one has been done away with completely. I think its a shame, as I often have lots of small niggles that I don't want to make an appointment for, but would welcome the opportunity to get it off my chest - still, thats cost cutting for you

thanks - was wondering if it was just my hv! I agree re little niggles, but nothing really concerning me (that I know about).

think it depends on your hv. Mine is super vigilant so books in all the checks and you have to go and see her. Ds had 2 yr check at 22mths etc.
