You could put her old cot mattress on the floor by the side of her bed incase she does fall out.

Do you have a spare double duvet? If so, fold it up, and put it on the floor next to her bed, it will cushion the fall (DD managed to fall out even with the panel ).

Mine went into a bed at 18 months, and had always been a wriggler too - only fell out once and has slept soooo much better!

Now don't shoot me here, OK? But do you have to do this now? It's very early. Our first went into a bed at 18 months and it was a bloody nightmare. We did it for reasons too complicated to explain (he'd been ill, wanted to do it and there happened to be a bed in his room already) and then he wouldn't stay in it for ten minutes. We bitterly regretted doing it so early. We tried controlled crying eventually and it didn't work. He became really traumatised and we had to go right back to basics; actually had to stay with him until he was asleep, for about six months. It was awful and hs frightened me about the process with ds2, who is 2. Think I'm going to keep in the cot, even when I have to fold him in...

i changed my DS cot into a bed at 12 months...this might seem early to some people...but i was having the scariest visions of him injuring himself when climbing......so off i went to Argos and bought a Tomy blue bedrail ...i took the cot sides off, put onside against the wall and the other side had the tomy rail.....i shuffled the rail right up to the top where his pillow was and he gradullay learnt how to climb through the gap at end of bed to get in/out of bed.......it took one week of being very stern when he got out of bed at night time....and voila....he's now 19months and a pro at staying inbed when told..........my little sister also has one of these bedrails...and she still has it on her bed aged 4 .....the getting it off of the bed will be my next challenge!

Hi, my daughter was walking at 10 months and she hated being confined once she had been mobile a few months so we put her into her cotbed at around 12 months-this worked for us.for the first week or so we stayed with her while she fell asleep but now she goes down no problem.if she does get out in the night the trick is not to talk to them but lay them back down and leave the room.our eldest was the same-walked at 12 months but by 14-15 months we put her into the cotbed and she was fine too.
