Hyperacusis

After a long process of trying to find out why my son is so sensitive to noise, we have been told by his peadeatrician that he has hyperacusis which they think is related in some way with a communication disorder. We are awaiting an appointment with a clincal pyschologist, but knowing very little about this condition, I wondered if anyone else had any experience of this in young children? Would appreciate any comments.

jerikaka, no experience I'm afraid but you might want to post this request under Special Needs, as I am sure heightened sensitivity to noise has been discussed on that board too.
