ok, this may seem a bit mad but i have really been struggling to get ds1 to sleep since
1 the fireworks
2 his dad left for 2 weeks business
3 we went to my parents house for a week

i is a bloody nightmare somenights,
so the last couple of nights i have turned the radio on for him to cover the firewrok noise, that worked last nigh
tonight he has been in bed for an hour, he is chatting away, but has just turned the radio up and i can hear this program about people being blown up by boms and all sorts
shall i disturb him and go in, maybe he will have yet another freak out (we are gettng no naps either )
or just let him listen to it before he goes to sleep??
i am finding it all soo hard right now and the thought that he is taking in all of these word like "killed" "blown to pieces" etc is horrible
he echoes all the time and i don't want him to be telling me all about this tomroow

I'd go in and switch it off, I wouldn't want a 2 year old listening to things like that when they're not equipped to make real sense of it.

the news is on now- scuicide bombers !!
i thought he'd get to the end of go4 it (crap tho it is) and be asleep
this is horrible

i think you are right, i just don't want yet another tantrum and stress out today
i am on my own with 2yr old and 12 weeks old and have some pretty grim phone calls to make tonight, cancelling a party for my mum (a nice surprise for her birthday0 as she has just had surgery for cancer
and dh is waway even er

Please switch it off, for his sake and yours. It sounds as if you've had a crap day and this won't make you feel any better.

Sorry you've had such a crap day, you could probably have done without this at the end of it.

cant you at least put another channel on?

Its not what I would want to send me off to the land of nod, I must say.

i went in and he was still awake with stuff about suicide bombers blaring out... i turned channels to blaring pop music- it is a dab and i don't know the presets dh out into it!
so i turned the vol right down to pretty much inaudible and said "night night"
he seems to be quiet now
i've eaten my tea and feel a bit better, both kids in bed and just the flat to tidy and these people to phone before ds2 wakes for a feed
agh!
