Under the Thumb!!!

Can anyone please give me some advice on my daughter's thumb sucking habit?

She is 11 months old and has been sucking her thumb(well its actually her middle and index fingers) since she was about 4 months old. She tends to suck them when she is tired, upset or whilst she is eating.

At first i didn't mind because it enabled her to soothe herself to sleep but i'm now worried that it will damage her gums and roof of her mouth and her teeth will be distorted if she continues.

The health visitor said she'll grow out of it eventually but i'm worried that it might do too much damage to her teeth

Can anyone give me some advice on how I can get her to stop?? Any tips are very welcome!!

no advice but dd1 still sucks her thumb (she is nearly 6) and has lovely teeth (her new ones are big and frilly but perfectly straight).

I wouldtn bother, she'll stop when she is ready.
