erections in a 2yr old

Hello everyone, I hope this post doesn't sound too weird but recently (over the last few weeks) my son, who is 2yrs4mths, has started to get erections many times in the day.
Unfortunately, he's fascinated by these and announces to all and sundry that he has a "big willy mummy" and proceeds to drop his trousers and show everyone

I'm not overly concerned by the above but something happened recently which really did surprise me-and this happened twice-he was looking at a clothes catalogue and flicked through pages til he reached the underwear and when I looked up he had been sitting there staring at it for a good couple of minutes-and then had an erection-is this "normal"?
I'm sorry if I sound manic-I'm really not! xx

I created the name when we were having a problem that meant we never left the house! You can probably tell I was feeling a bit resentful

I have three sons and I think this is perfectly normal. It's probably coincidence that he was looking through an underwear catalogue at the time. Or maybe he was looking though the underwear pictures, thinking about what was inside the pants, which then led him to think about his own willy, which responded accordingly -as they do. I'm told.

I also think it's normal - I remember one little boy I used to look after used to say at the dinner table "my willy is all hard", and his mum just used to say "oh is it dear? How about a bit more cheese on your pasta etc" The phase passed.

Can remember my brothers at that age.... and now my own ds.
Totally normal!!!

My ds used to be soooooo proud of himself for "waking his willie up" lol. He's 4 now and knows not to do that in public..... or on the sofa watching TV!

Hiya my ds is 16 months and has them fairly often. So far he hasn't really noticed it too much (I'm sure that won't last!!) It was really funny, I'd never mentioned it to dp and the other day dp saw him with one and went all embarrassed for him and said "Ahem, do you need a wee Fin? ahem ahem" heehee!!

ahh just wait a year or so when he realises that he can MAKE them grow by fiddling.

its perfectly normal hun.
the less fuss you make the quicker he will get over it.

I have two girls and a boy so I have been equally wondering about the whole willy thing! He's a twin and the other night his twin sister saw his willy in the bath and had a little poke at it. She was fascinated and he was laughing. They are 15 months by the way!!!!

My wee boy has had erections for quite a while and its seems totally natural.

Once found never left....... .

Thanks everyone-I told my mum and she just groaned (as a mother of 1 son also) and said that now he's found it that's it-he'll never leave it alone!

I think I'll just ignore it I think xx

My ds has just turned 3 yo this month and I was coping with erections fine but last week I took him down stairs after his bath and while I got his and his sisters PJ's he had fiddles and managed to retract his foreskin My dd 5 yo was knealing beside him staring at it asking " it that blood" Well I was lost for words and told dh when he got home to speak to him - he's 3 yo fgs what can dh say? Girls are so simple He was so pleased with his new trick and I hope he doesn't show it off at play group!

Not weird at all, my DS (3) is very proud of his willy when it suddenly gets bigger. For a while he used to say that his willy hurt so DH took him to the doctors who found nothing wrong with it. Turns out it was only the feeling of getting hard that he was referring to

Pinotmum, DS has also recently discovered his foreskin, and spent a whole day looking at his 'other willy' (he thinks he's got one hidden inside the other). He dropped his trousers in Morrisons last week though so we've had to have words.

I know this probably makes him sound willy-obsessed (he is though!) but a few weeks ago I spotted him sat on the settee, bending his head down towards his bits. He looked up, rather annoyed and said 'I'm trying to lick my willy mummy'.

PMSL - I know I shouldn't but at least I know my ds is not alone.

Ohh god you mean I have all this to come with ds now only 1mnth? I thought it was bad enough trying to teach dd that it isn't polite to sit with hands down pants.
