End of last week Ds came home from nursery and had been playing for a while, i asked him to tidy his toys away as he had finished playing with them. He refused to and then proceeded make a gun out of his hand which he pointed at me and then said f**ker, I told him that it was not a very nice word and that we don't use words like that in this house, not making a big issue of it as he will only say it more,

He has been saying it a few times yesterday and today.

I have had a word with his nursery teacher and she responded brilliantly saying that she will keep ears peeled and have a little talk with the children without mentioning names.

I also would like to add that ds does not have any toy guns as we don't like them and dh and i don't swear ourselves.

Any advice on nipping this in the bud quickly?

would think so
my dh is terrible in our house at dropping the odd curse word.and dd also 3 has picked up on it but uses them totally out of context which is funny but we dont draw attention to it either.

my kids know the f swearword. i thought i had misheard the first time i heard my two year old say it. but she learnt it from her four year old brother, who learnt it off his 8 year old.
