12-week-old is always wriggling and writhing around...

It's very hard to hold my 12-week-old ds for any length of time as he wriggles around ALL the time and never seems very content. It makes it v difficult to go anywhere or do anything as I'm always anxious about him starting to cry. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be? He's almost exclusively breastfed (though we've just started giving him a bottle in the evening).

Thanks Kama. Did your daughter cry a lot too? My ds seems to cry whenever we're in a social situation which involves just sitting and chatting. He won't really sit on laps either, so we end up constantly holding him facing forwards and swaying from side to side, or holding him in tiger in the tree position - very tiring! I'm just worried that he doesn't seem like other babies, who mostly seem content to just sit and watch the world go by.
