Can I use sour cream instead of buttermilk? I know I can mock up buttermilk using milk and lemon juice but have sour cream in fridge which would be quicker!
Yep, I would.Might need slightly more other liquid - or add a little milk to the sour cream to thin it out slightly?
Definitely, as above - just thin it out with some milk until it's the same viscocity as buttermilk.

Would Creme fraiche work like this too?
