Thanks for the replies. I think I got confused with baking soda/powder. No muffins for us today then.
I think Bicarb with cream of tartare makes baking powder?
Not the same thing. Bicarb is gentler as a raising agent I think. Bicarbonate of soda is sometimes referred to as baking soda. Best to go and buy some baking powder if you're baking cakes.

And if not can I use BofC instead of baking powder? Will it make much difference?
