Before I actually had a set of measuring cups, I used to use a conversion chart like this one and just measure the ingredients. It gives the weight for cups of all the ingredients you need. smile

Okay thanks all! I'll find a cup in the house that does about 230-40ml and use that.

Was just a bit worried about weight to liquid ratio being wrong!

Now, hope this works!

Oops sorry, ignore mine, it's all wrong!

A cup is just over 200ml (236). I actually do have a cup but couldn't find it at weeken so used a measuring jug.

But floss is right. But, a much bigger mug would result in a lot more mix.

Just use a cup. It's all about ratios, so so long as you use the same cup throughout it'll be fine.

I have a recipe for Brownies with American cup measurements which I want to make for guests coming at 9.30am.

It calls for cups of various things...
2 cups plain flour
2 cups sugar (either caster or soft brown)
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup oil (olive or vegetable is best)
1 cup water
1 tsp vanilla essence

Do I just use a cup, or is there a specific measurement I need to use?!
